Carlos Martínez
Carlos Martínez Cevallos is an Ecuadorian attorney with a solid practice in international and business law, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, as well as conflict resolution. Graduating with honors from the Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil, Carlos continued his academic training at the University of California, Berkeley, where he completed the “Corporate Finance Fundamentals” program, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the financial aspects impacting the business legal environment. He later expanded his specialization at Esade – Business & Law School in Barcelona, obtaining a Master’s in International Business Law with a focus on M&A.
His professional evolution led him to serve as an attorney at the Ecuadorian firm Consulegis, where he has led client defenses, drafted contracts, and participated in complex corporate agreements. Additionally, he has represented clients in judicial and arbitration proceedings, excelling in the negotiation of strategic agreements.
Carlos’s impact in the legal field has been recognized internationally, having received the “Spotlight Member” award from the American Bar Association – Dispute Resolution Section at the age of 22. His contribution to legal thought is reflected in his prolific work as an author, with publications in various newsletters of the American Bar Association, addressing relevant topics such as emergency arbitration, legal reform in Ecuador, and bilateral investment treaties.
Currently, Carlos serves as the advisor to Luis Alberto Jaramillo Granja, Director General of the National Customs Service of Ecuador (SENAE).
