Diane J. Sabatino
Ms. Sabatino graduated from Fordham University in New York City with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a specialization in Philosophy. She later graduated from the John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Senior Executive Program in National and International Security and the Department of Homeland Security’s Partnership for Public Service Fellowship Program. She began his federal law enforcement career in 1998 as an immigration inspector at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
She currently serves as the Acting Executive Associate Commissioner of the Office of Field Operations (OFO) at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Throughout her career, she served as the Deputy Assistant Executive Commissioner (DEAC) of OFO, where she led CBP’s National Incident Command for Operation Allies Welcome (OAW), which was a historic success for CBP. As part of OAW, CBP, along with state, local, and federal partner agencies, defended the security of the United States while providing humanitarian assistance to over 84,000 individuals fleeing Afghanistan. She also led the development of the OFO strategy, incorporating field priorities and realigning key OFO processes to meet Agency mission objectives.
She served as the Director of Field Operations (DFO) for the Miami and Tampa Field Office, overseeing all inspection operations throughout the state of Florida, covering 19 airports and 12 seaports, including the top 3 cruise ports in the world. She was the primary field coordinator for incident response, responsible for managing the response to multiple hurricanes for all CBP resources comprising FEMA Region IV.
She also served as the Miami Port Director, managing complex maritime cargo operations and the country’s largest cruise passenger port. Prior to her appointment as Port Director, she served as Deputy Port Director and Passenger Operations at Miami International Airport, where she was responsible for overseeing all international passenger inspections and compliance activities.
